Terms of use.

Last updated: 4 June 2026  ·  Effective: 4 June 2026

These terms govern your use of the Eat app and website. By downloading or using Eat, you agree to them. If you have questions, email hello@theeat.app before continuing.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Eat App Ltd ("Eat", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales. They govern your access to and use of the Eat iOS application, website at theeat.app, and related services (together, "the Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm you are at least 13 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us immediately at hello@theeat.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not create an account on behalf of someone else without their consent, or use the Service in any country where it is prohibited by law.

3. Subscriptions & billing

Eat offers four paid subscription tiers — Solo (£4.99/mo), Power (£9.99/mo), Household (£14.99/mo) and Lux (£20/mo) — managed entirely through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • To cancel, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.
  • Prices may change; we will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase before it affects your subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard App Store refund policy. Contact Apple Support to request a refund.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Eat for your own personal, non-commercial meal planning. You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
  • Scrape, copy or redistribute meal plans, recipes or other content generated by the Service.
  • Use the Service to train or fine-tune machine learning models.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Use the Service in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful to others.

5. Content and intellectual property

The Eat app, its design, code, branding and generated content are owned by Eat App Ltd and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Content you provide — dietary preferences, custom recipes you import, saved meals — remains yours. By storing it in Eat you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of delivering the Service to you.

Meal plans and recipes generated by Eat are provided for your personal use only. You may share individual meal ideas with others informally, but may not republish or commercialise generated content.

6. Health & nutrition disclaimer

Eat provides meal planning, macro tracking and nutritional information for general informational purposes. It is not medical or nutritional advice, and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

Macro and calorie figures are estimates. If you have a medical condition, eating disorder, or specific dietary needs under medical supervision, consult a qualified professional before using nutritional guidance from Eat.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular feature will always be available.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Eat App Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes all your personal data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach. Where possible we will warn you first.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country give you additional rights.
