1. Acceptance
By downloading, signing in to or using Eat you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Eat. We may update these terms from time to time; if a change is material we will let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to create an account. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up to confirm this.
3. Your account
One account works in the app and on the website. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away at hello@theeat.app if you think someone else is using it.
4. Subscriptions, trials and billing
- Eat offers a free tier that lets you build one plan, and two paid plans, Solo and Power, billed monthly or yearly.
- Solo starts with a 7-day free trial, once per account. You will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
- Power is billed on the day you subscribe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. The price and renewal period are shown before you confirm. The price you see is the price you pay.
- We may change prices for future periods. If we do, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel before the new price applies.
5. Web purchases and app-store purchases
Subscriptions bought on theeat.app are processed by Stripe and managed from your account page. Subscriptions bought in the app are processed by Apple under the App Store terms and managed from your iPhone's Settings. Whichever way you subscribe, your plan works everywhere you sign in with the same account. Yearly prices are set separately on the web and in the App Store; you always see the exact amount before you pay.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time. For web subscriptions, open your account and choose Cancel; for App Store subscriptions, use Settings, your name, Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Because you can try Eat free and cancel at any time, payments already made are not refunded except where the law requires it. App Store refunds are handled by Apple.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't misuse Eat. In particular, don't copy, resell or redistribute our recipes, plans or content; attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt or overload the service or its APIs; use automated tools to scrape it; or use Eat to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
8. Nutrition disclaimer
Eat is not medical advice. Calorie and macro targets are calculated with standard formulas from the details you give us and are for general wellbeing. Supermarket prices are refreshed regularly but can change before you shop. If you have a medical condition, an allergy, are pregnant, or have a specific dietary need, check with a qualified professional before relying on a plan. Always check ingredient labels yourself.
9. Intellectual property
Eat, its name, logo, recipes, plans and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property law. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Eat for your own meals. Content you add, such as a profile photo or an imported recipe, stays yours; you give us permission to store and display it so the service works.
10. Termination
You can stop using Eat and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach, we will refund any unused part of a prepaid period.
11. Limitation of liability
Eat is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from your use of Eat, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot waive under your local consumer law, or liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Eat is established, and disputes will be heard by its courts, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim at home.
13. Changes to these terms
The date at the top shows when these terms were last updated. Continuing to use Eat after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
