01 Overview

Eat builds a personalised meal plan, shopping list and cook mode around you. To do that we need to understand your goals, tastes and budget. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

The short version: we use your answers only to build and improve your plans. We never sell your data, and you can export or delete everything at any time.

02 What we collect

You give us

  • Account details — your name and email address.
  • Plan inputs — goals, dietary preferences, allergies, spice level, stores and weekly budget.
  • Activity — meals you log, swap, save or skip.

Collected automatically

  • Device and app version, used to keep Eat running smoothly.
  • Anonymous usage events that tell us which features help most.

03 How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Build and continuously reshape your weekly plan and shopping list.
  • Keep every plan within your diet, allergies and budget.
  • Send you plan reminders and trial notices you can turn off any time.
  • Improve Eat's recipes, matching and pricing over time.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we never train models to identify you personally.

04 Sharing

We share data only with the processors that make Eat work — for example our hosting, analytics and payment providers — and only what each needs to do its job. They are bound by contract to protect it. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

05 Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain records such as billing history.

06 Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

  • Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Export your meal history and saved recipes.
  • Delete your account and personal data entirely.

All of this lives in Settings → Privacy inside the app, or you can email us and a human will help.

07 Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it, and payment details are handled by our PCI-compliant payment provider — Eat never stores your full card number.

08 Changes & contact

If we make a material change to this policy we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Questions about your privacy? Reach us any time at our contact page or privacy@theeat.app.
